| Question: Which ISP can I use if I have Linux on my computer? Answer: About the only ISPs you can NOT use are those that require you to run Windows software to connect. So that would rule out: AOL, Compuserve, Netzero, Juno, Bluelight, AT&T Worldnet, Wal*mart Connect... pretty much any other ISP should work with Linux However, you'll find a wide variety in the skill of tech support in terms of fixing things if you run into problems making the PPP dialup script work. Generally the assumption is if you are smart enough to run Linux, you know how to read the How-To, FAQs and/or have computer geek friends to resolve problems. If you click on the Advanced Search link after you arrive at the page for your city, you can select "Supports Linux" - this means a bit more than it is compatible with - it means the ISP says they SUPPORT linux and at least have information online on how to perform the setup for at least one flavo[u]r of LInux. | ||||||||||||||||||
